Zoya’s Pilgrims Story

We love hearing from our students and their experience at Pilgrims. Today, we bring you Zoya’s story:

I started going to Pilgrims when I was nine years old and since then I have been back 3 times in the last 6 years.

Even though the first time I went was only for two weeks it was an amazing character building experience that will always be with me.

Each year that I return I meet new international friends such as Francisca, Maria and Teresa who I met up with in Lisbon this year after meeting for the first time last summer.

Thanks to these friends we are given the opportunity to travel the world to visit each other as well as the chance to communicate in English in an exciting environment.

Not only do I make new friends but I also get to see returning staff members who have become like family. They never fail to make a spectacular Pilgrims course and help me improve my English each time I go back, along with them I reconnect with returning friends that I will always have.

It fills us with joy and happiness reading these testimonials and we think that the least we can do is say a few words about our lovely alumni. Here you have Zoya’s latest Course Director and our current Academic Manager, Dina Gordon, on Zoya:

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Zoya every time she returns to our courses. She always brings with her a warm and positive attitude to not only learning but interacting with others. She is a model Pilgrims student who we have had the ultimate pleasure of watching grow from a bright and bubbly young girl to a strong and confident young lady.

Owing to Zoya’s calm nature she is able to mix with students of all nationalities and language competences which is what we promote at Pilgrims. She is always willing to try new things and encourages others to do the same.

It is great to hear that Zoya has had the opportunity to meet with other wonderful Pilgrim students, Francisca, Maria and Teresa, in Portugal. That is what Pilgrims is all about – Making lasting friendships!

I speak for all staff when I say we hope Zoya can join us again for more WoW, more fun and more English in summer 2018.
